“ But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.” Matt.6:3-4
I so admire those who work faithfully and steadily. They quietly go about their business and you hardly notice them because they are working behind the scenes. But those things done in the shadows are often the most important things. Without shadows we don’t notice the light.
God in His wisdom desires us to work in humble submission in the shadows, then the spotlight will be on Him.
“… whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
“…whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
“… And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men…”
When the light shines on Jesus, His children reflect His goodness to those who are lost, discouraged, and have no hope.
One day when we stand before the judgment seat to receive our reward, it will not be done in the shadows, but in the open for all to see what the Lord has done through us, to bring honor toSo I hope you are dancing in the shadows today as David danced with all his might before the Lord and His Ark.
